Socioeconomic inequality and obesity are intricately linked. A war has been declared on the ‘obesity epidemic’ and society often places blame on the individual for their condition. Sociologist Oli Williams examines weight-based stigma, showing its unhelpfulness and exploring how this understanding can change public health for the better.
